Dr. Lisa Damour Presentation: The Emotional Lives of Children and Teenagers

Tue, Nov 10 6:00PM
In this presentation, Dr. Lisa Damour will draw on decades of clinical experience and psychological research to explain what healthy emotional development really looks like—from childhood through adolescence—and how adults can best support it. She will explore why mental health is not about feeling good all the time, dispel common myths about young people’s emotions, and offer practical strategies for helping children and teenagers express and manage their feelings. Dr. Damour will also examine how digital technology shapes emotional well-being and how gender influences the expression and management of emotion. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of children’s and teenagers’ emotional lives, along with practical tools for supporting them with confidence and compassion.
